Mexican Fire Opal Metal Clay Retreat with Holly Gage
and Chef Chris Gage
hosted at the Mexican villa of Monica Weber-Butler
owner of Eclectic School of Jewellery & Design, England
Holly Gage, master instructor with her husband and gourmet chef have teamed up with talented Metal Clay artist and host Monica Weber-Butler to bring to you a fantastic retreat centered around the beauty of opals and gems. The backdrop to the retreat will be Tequisquiapan, a charming colonial town located in the heart of central Mexico. Cobblestone streets and bougainvillea clad walls add charm and character to the place. Organised around a central plaza whose arched corridors, small boutiques, galleries and restaurants are overlooked by an impressive 16th century church, the town has roots in a long tradition of local craft-making, including talavera pottery, embroidery, basketweaving and hand-made furniture. Part of Mexico’s wine route, the town hosts the annual Feria Nacional del Queso y el Vino. Book early as seats are limited.
